The solo exhibition of Timoteus Anggawan Kusno (Angga), Ghost Light, exhibits a number of works, including videos, sculptures, and other objects that are made and assembled in the form of installations in a dark room with a layout that builds a dramaturgical atmosphere as well as a filmic perception.

Some works remind us of the character of spaces of today’s life, some others trigger the imagination related to myths, also things that seem foreign, but tickle us with poetic expressions. The video work, in particular, presents a story that exposes the process of creating the story itself. Furthermore, the representation of objects in the video and real objects beyond it bounces and responds to each other, implying an imaginary relationship that spreads through the internal environment of the exhibition we are going to explore.

The curatorial basis of this exhibition is the artist’s desire to express his interval moment from the long process using the medium of text in exploring the possibilities of fiction as a historical deconstruction technique. Simultaneously, Ghost Light shows the parallels of Angga’s developing artistic method; Text-based archival processing is substituted by exposing the process of production to play the liminality between fiction, history, imagination, memory, and reality, as well as the actual process to respond to these five things.
