In this two-part Speculation Crash Course, we will try to use speculation as a way to create a collective form of imagination.
ALMANAK a project initiated by artist Natasha Tontey in collaboration with curator Syafiatudina, at Cemeti-Institut for Arts and Society. ALMANAK consists of two parts: an exhibition featuring Natasha Tontey’s new work (5-30 June 2018) and a series of public events titled “Trip”, in which Natasha Tontey and curator Syafiatudina respond to the main concerns, questions and imaginations of the project, which are of a nature double and fragmented.

The exhibition of new artwork by Auto Italia serves to launch a collaboratively produced fanzine which will be published later in the year.
In a Hard Place Apply Soft Pressure/s is a project developed by soft/WALL/studs (s/W/s), a blend of studio, library and project space located in Geylang, Singapore.
Artist Job Fair is a project by Wok The Rock, with spatial design by architect collective Videshiiya. For the duration of the project, the spaces of Cemeti Institute will be transformed into an expo, workstation and resource centre where visitors can access open calls for artist residencies, grants/funds and other opportunities for artists.
In their performance project Membayang, the interdisciplinary collective Studio Batu attempts to explore the history of “raising Cemeti”, particularly the role of Cemeti founders and couple Nindityo Adipurnomo and Mella Jaarsma.
